JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate for this job will be responsible for planning and coordination provision of hardware
and software requirements of Rehabilitation Centre for the Visually Impaired (RCVI). He/she will be
responsible for maintaining ICT services and providing training to RCVI’s pupils. He/she is responsible
administratively to Principal of RCVI and technically to Field Unified Registration System Administrator He/she may participate in seminars or workshops and travel to participate in training courses or visit
international organizations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate
Acts as a focal Relief and Social Services per son for information and communication technology
services at RCVI. Mainly
Coordinates with Field Relief and Social Services Department the preparation of RCVI’s IT
requirements, plans and budget
Plans, initiates and coordinates necessary activities to implement visually impaired educational IT
infrastructure in RCVI as per relevant ISD standards and Technical Instructions and in coordination
with information & Communication Technology Office (ICTO)
Plans and coordinates new hardware and software delivery and installation; maintains additional
special-purpose hardware available at RCVI and upgrades when warranted
Ensures the right use of the computer lab and special purpose hardware and software at RCVI;
Manages and participates in the provision of first line help desk services in RCVI and solves
escalated problems in coordination with ICTO, as necessary
Provides, in coordination with ICTO first line local Area Network (LAN) administration support
communications and other ICT services
Develops small scale software to support management of education process for the visually impaired
pupils at RCVI
May prepare and conduct IT training courses/ lectures to RCVI’s pupils, provides technical guidance
training, support and documentation to RCVI staff, as needed
Keeps up-to-date inventory on all RCVI’s IT educational infrastructure, hardware and software licenses
Performs such other duties as may be assigned

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
University degree OR two years diploma in computer science, computer engineering, information
systems or other related discipline.
Technical training in end-user computer hardware, software and LAN installation and maintenance.
Four years experience for university degree holders OR seven years experience for diploma holders, in
computer help desk services related support.
Experience and knowledge of end-user computer technology, PC hardware and software products and
latest Microsoft PC software products.
Experience in LAN infrastructure design and MS server administration.
Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
Ability to conduct and coordinate training events.
Strong communications skills
Ability to work under pressure.
It is desirable to possess an experience with Microsoft E-mail Technology; wireless technology; and
experience or knowledge of UNRWA’s operations and computer facilities environment.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary is $783.00 plus monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25
Contract Duration: Two years including 1 year probation period.
Leave: 30 days annual leave
Pension: Provident Fund contribution
Other conditions of service and benefits may apply

progressive work experience may also be considered
